BERAKAS GARRISON, Friday, 31 August 2018 – The Final Competition of the Musabaqah Tilawah Al-Quran for Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) organised by the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) was held in conjunction with the RBAF 57th Anniversary at the Pahlawan Hall, Berakas Garrison.Present as the Guest of Honour was Major General Pengiran Dato Paduka Seri Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, Commander of the RBAF. The event was also attended by First Admiral Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Norazmi bin Pengiran Haji Muhammad, Commander of RBN, Service Commanders, senior officers, RBAF personnel and special invited guests.
A total of 10 RBAF personnel participated in the final competition where 5 participated in Qari and 5 in Qariah.
The winner of Musabaqah Tilawah Al-Quran for the RBAF level are as follows:
Qari Champion was won by Private Awg Mohd Zulilmi bin Awg Haji Julahia from the Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF); runner-up was won by Corporal Nazirul bin Haji Asmat from Training Institute RBAF (TI RBAF) and third place was won by Private (U) Ak Mohd Syarif Hidayatollah bin Pg Hassbollah from Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF).
The Champion for Qariah was won by Corporal Hjh Rubiah binti Haji Dagang from RBLF; runner-up Ordinary Rate Dk Nurrafidah binti Pg Mustapa from the RBN and third place was won by Private Siti Mariatul Tabtiah binti Garip from RBLF.
The event concluded with the presentation of souvenirs and prizes by the Guest of Honour to the panel of judges and contestants followed by a Doa Selamat recited by the Head of RBAF Religious Department, Commander Haji Ainolnizam bin Haji Ibrahim, RBN.
