MUARA,Wednesday, 21 February 2024 – In a display of regional maritime cooperation, the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) hosted the 53rd series of the Pakistan Staff Course at the Muara Naval Base. Led by Commodore Mohd Amir Shahzad, the delegation included 12 Pakistani participants, seven foreign participants, and two facilitators. Commodore Mohd Amir Shahzad also paid a courtesy call to Captain Sarif Pudin bin Matserudin, RBN, Acting Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy. The call concluded positively, with both parties expressing their commitment to further enhancing maritime cooperation and friendship between Brunei and Pakistan.
Upon their arrival at the Naval Training Centre, the Acting Commandant Naval Training, Commander Faizal Ezam bin Haji Abas, RBN, extended a warm welcome to the delegates. Commander Malek Fadillah bin Pehin Dato Juragan Laila Diraja Dato Seri Pahlawan Hj Kefli, Assistant Chief of Staff Operations, RBN, then delivered a comprehensive presentation, highlighting the key roles and responsibilities of the RBN. Following the engaging discussions, the delegation participated in a photo-taking and gift-exchange ceremony, solidifying the bonds of friendship and collaboration.
They then embarked on a guided tour of the 80-meter patrol vessel, KDB DARULEHSAN. Led by Commanding Officer Lieutenant Commander Mohd Zulyamin bin Awang Mohd Noor, the participants received a firsthand experience of the vessel’s operating systems and capabilities, gaining valuable knowledge about the RBN’s operational readiness.
The visit underscores the commitment of both navies to fostering closer understanding and hopes to contribute to strengthening regional maritime security and pave the way for future endeavours.
