BERAKAS GARRISON, Friday, 13 July 2018 – By the consent of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Minister of Defence and Supreme Commander of Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), thirty-seven Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) officers were promoted to the next higher rank in a ceremony that took place at the Officers’ Mess, Berakas Garrison. The thirty-seven RBAF officers includes eleven (11) officers from Royal Brunei Navy (RBN).
Major General Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) was present at the promotion ceremony to award the new insignias to the officers.
The list of promoted personnel are as follows, one (1) officer was promoted to Substantive Commander, one (1) officer was promoted to Acting Commander, one (1) officer was promoted to Substantive Lieutenant Commander and eight (8) officers were promoted to Lieutenant.
Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Retired) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd. Yussof, Minister of Defence II was also present to witness the momentous occasion. Also in attendance at the ceremony were First Admiral Pg Dato Seri Pahlawan Norazmi Bin Pg Haji Muhammad, RBN Commander, members of the Defence Executive Committee, Services Commanders, Commandants, Directors, senior officers and officers of Ministry of Defence and RBAF, as well as family members of the promoted officers.
