Muara, Monday 10 November 2014 – The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) welcomes the Secondary School St. Margaret Seria for a study visit. The group consisted of 61 students and 4 teachers led by Cikgu Muhammad Izzuddin bin Abdullah.The tour kicked off at the Warrant Officers, Staff Sergeant and Sergeant Mess RBN.A short brief on the history, the organizational structure, and the current assets of RBN was presented by 912 Lt (L) Ak Md Zakwan bin Pg Salleh.
After a light meal, the students were given the liberty to tour on board KDB DARULEHSAN (07) led by 859 Lt (L) Md Hydzir Zuhdi bin Hj Sulaiman along with the additional guide from the ship’s crew. They were given a short brief on the duties of officers and enlisted personnel, and the various appointments held onboard ship.
The students were taken to the following areas: Rigid Inflatable Craft (RIC) deck, Officers and senior rates mess, Foxcle, Bridge, and Flight deck. A demonstration of handling a high-pressure fire hose was conducted by the firefighting team. On top of that, to strengthen the student’s confidence, they were given the opportunity of handling the fire hose with guidance. Overall, it was a brief experience on the environment of working onboard RBN ship.
