BOLKIAH GARRISON, Wednesday 27 April 2016 – Thirty Eight Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) personnel headed by Lt dya Umi Kalsum, Training Officer of Naval Training Centre, Royal Brunei Navy visited the counselling Unit of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) in the Bolkah Garrission as part of a Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) Petty Officer leadership course activity programme.
The purpose of visit were to learn and gain knowledge and how the unit operates, its effectiveness in executing and implementing the responsibilities shouldered by the unit.
Apart from that, it also aimed to know the reaction of its members on establishement of the unit and most importantly to know the objectives of its establishment.
The visit commenced with a brief presented by Head of the counselling Unit by Major Iswandy bin Murni, on the roles, responsibilities and functions of Counseling Centre, organisational structure, mission and visions.
RBAF Counselling Unit, since its establishment in 2002, works for the short, medium and long run and serves to provide assitance to RBAF personnel, as well as the general public.
The unit’s main functions are to generate walfare, established beneficial activities and tackle problems, as well guiding individuals who are in need of counselling assitance. The visit concluded with speech and presenting a plaque on behalf of RBN to the Counseling Centre a token of appreciation and group photo session with the Counseling Centre Officers.
