MUARA NAVAL BASE, Tuesday 24th April 2018 – The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) welcomed a Goodwill Visit by HMAS TOOWOOMBA from the Royal Australian Navy, programmed to be held for 4 days from Tuesday, 24 April until Friday, 27th April 2018.
This visit is in conjunction with the ANZAC Day celebration that falls annually on the 25th April, celebrated by both the Royal Australian and Royal New Zealand Navies. Upon arrival, the ship was greeted by RBN Band, officers and personnel lead by Commander Khairil Haji Abdul Rahman, RBN, Chief of Staff RBN.
HMAS TOOWOOMBA is led by Commander Stuart Watters, Commanding Officer of HMAS TOOWOOMBA with a total number of 190 personnel onboard, consisting of 30 officers and 160 enlisted personnel.
The Royal Australian Navy (RAN) ships will also conduct a Passage Exercise with KDB DARUTTAQWA, which is scheduled to take place on Friday, 27th April 2018. The latest RAN ship to visit Brunei Darussalam was by HMAS MELBOURNE in October 2017.
