MUARA, Thursday 10 April 2014 – First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Tamit, Commander of Royal Brunei Navy, received a Courtesy Call from Captain Rashed Zafar, Commanding Officer of PNS SHAMSHEER which was accompanied by Mr Zahid Hussain, the Acting High Commissioner of Pakistan.During the call, both sides discussed the importance of strengthening the partnership in order to bring two navies together and to maintain bilateral defence cooperation between the two countries, especially friendship and leadership must be extended to all level.
The discussion also mentioned that Royal Brunei Navy has been sending officers to undergo military and other naval training in Pakistan which shows the presence of excellent ties between the two navies.
PNS SHAMSHEER is on a 3 day Goodwill visit in Brunei and will depart on Saturday, 12 April 2014. The ship is scheduled to sail to Qingdao, China for her next port of call where she will join the Multilateral Maritime Exercise in conjunction with the Western Pacific Naval Symposium 2014.
The Commanding Officer of PNS SHAMSHEER is also scheduled to pay a Courtesy Call to Commander of Royal Brunei Armed Forces.
