MUARA, Saturday, 25 November 2017 – The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) welcomed an Indian Navy Ship, INS SATPURA, at the Muara Commercial Wharf. The ships were greeted upon arrival by officers and personnel of RBN, lead by Lieutenant Commander Mohammad Zouhdy bin Haji Abdul Razak, RBN, Executive Officer KDB DARULEHSAN.
The 4-day visit to Brunei Darussalam starts from 25 to 28 November 2017. The frigate is commanded by Captain Rahul Shankar carrying 40 officers and 360 crew members.
INS SATPURA’s visit to Brunei Darussalam this year is in conjunction with ASEAN-India 25th years of partnership and to reaffirm India’s commitment to her partners within ASEAN. During the visit, INS SATPURA will participate in various professional exchanges and sport interactions where both navies will have the opportunity to share invaluable experiences and deepen the friendship that they have forged over the years.
During the visit the crew will get the opportunity to explore several attractions sites within the country, such as the Brunei Maritime Museum, Royal Regalia Museum and Brunei Arts and Handicraft Centre Brunei in Bandar Seri Begawan and other attraction sites as well as experiencing the local culture and cuisine.
