SINGAPORE, MONDAY, 3 AUGUST 2026 – Officers from the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) and Joint Force Headquarters, Royal Brunei Armed Forces (JFHQ RBAF), participated in the Final Planning Conference (FPC) and Shore Phase of the Southeast Asia Cooperation and Training 2026 (SEACAT 2026), held from 3rd to 7th August 2026 in the Republic of Singapore.
The delegation was led by Commander Saiful Hazril bin Haji Ali, RBN, representing JFHQ RBAF. Representing the RBN were Lieutenant Commander Mohammad Baharudin bin Haji Mohammad Salleh, RBN, Principal Warfare Officer of KDB DARULEHSAN, and Lieutenant Commander Muhammad Akhmal bin Mohammad Akbal, RBN, Flight Operations Officer of the Fleet Tactical Aircraft Squadron. Both officers participated in the Maritime Operations (MAROPS) Forum, focusing on Surface Assets and Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR).
The FPC and Shore Phase focused on enhancing Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA), information-sharing and regional cooperation, while refining operational coordination and exercise scenarios in preparation for the upcoming sea phase of SEACAT 2026.
Simultaneously, Commander Ade Roddiane bin Haji Mohammad Rosdi, RBN, Deputy Fleet Commander, also participated in the Senior Leadership Forum (SLF) from 5th to 7th August 2026 as part of the programme. The forum provided senior military leaders with a platform to discuss maritime security issues, strengthen professional networks and exchange best practices.
RBN’s participation in SEACAT 2026 reflects its continued commitment to strengthening regional maritime security cooperation, information-sharing and interoperability with partner nations and forces.
