BERAKAS MINI STADIUM, Monday, 01 August 2016 – This year’s Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Football competition kick-started this afternoon at both Bolkiah Garrison Mini Stadium and Berakas Camp Mini Stadium. The Royal Brunei Navy is the host for this year’s competition which also marks a new change in the format of the competition, from the traditional double knockout format to a league format. All participating teams will battle for the top rank to achieve this year’s RBAF Football League champions.
Teams taking part in this year’s competition includes the Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF), Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF), Training Institute Royal Brunei Armed Forces (TI RBAF) and the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF).
The first match was played against RBN and TI RBAF which ended a nil 1-1 at the Bolkiah Garrison Mini Stadium, and the match between RBLF and RBAirF which also ended with a nil 1-1.
The following grand finale championship match will be held this Wednesday, whereby MINDEF will compete against RBN at Rimba Camp Mini Stadium and RBLF against TI RBAF at Penanjong Garrison Mini Stadium.
