MUARA NAVAL BASE, Monday 04 July 2016 – Today has marked another milestone for the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) in completing the reading of the Holy Quran during the month of Ramadan. It was commemorated with a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony held at the RBN Surau.
The Guest of Honour was Captain Haji Othman bin Haji Suhaili@Suhaily, Acting Commander of RBN. Also present were Senior Officers, Officers and enlisted personnel of RBN.
The event began with the congregational Zuhur prayers, followed by the recital of the Holy Quran from Surah Ad-Dhuha to Surah Al-Ikhlas.
The ceremony concluded with a Doa keshukuran and Dikir Marhaban lead by RBN’s Imam Mohammad Khairol Azmi bin Haji Salleh.
The auspicious ceremony intends to encourage the RBN officers and personnel towards the importance of reading the Holy Quran, at the same time to instil spiritual elements in officers and members of the RBN so that the duties and responsibilities entrusted on them are carried out diligently with full dedication while seeking the blessings of Allah SWT.
