Muara Friday 12 August 2016, An exercise planning conference took place at the Multi National Coordination Centre (MNCC), Muara between the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) and Royal Australian Navy (RAN).

Representing the RAN was Commander Samuel RJ Woolrych, RAN Delegation for Exercise Planning Conference (EPC) PENGUIN 17/16. The conference was held from the 04 – 05 August 2016.

The conference was started with Welcoming Remark that was delivered by RBN’s Head of Delegation, Commander Hj Nor Arriwin bin Hj Mohd Ali, Commanding Officer of KDB DARUSSALAM.

After the Welcoming Remark, it was continued by the discussion which was chaired by Lieutenant Commander Ade Roddiane bin Hj Rosdi, Acting Fleet Operation Officer. Both RBN and RAN discussed on the sequence of events to be conducted during the shore and sea phase for the upcoming exercise.

The EPC gave the opportunity for both sides to underscore the strong relationship between Brunei Darussalam and Australia, noting the importance of both Navies to achieve common objectives. RBN and RAN are determined to enhance mutual understanding and cooperation, which includes exchange best practices in joint operational practices.

Both sides agreed on the pre-planned programme and serials where the signing of minutes was held on 05 August 2016. The RBN’s Head of Delegation and RAN’s Head of Delegation expressed their gratitude and appreciation towards those in attendance for their cooperation and dedication.

The planned Exercise PENGUIN 17/16 is expected to commence on the 02 – 10 October 2016.
