MUARA, Thursday, 21 September 2017 – Ma’al Hijrah 1439H ceremony was held to commemorate the revelation of the first Muharram at the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) surau.
Present as the Guest of Honour was Commander Norshahrinizam bin Haji Talib, RBN Commandant of Support Services. Also present were Senior Officers, Officers, RBN enlisted personnel, Askar Wanita, Technical Equipment Maintenance Division Personnel and other non-military personnel.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of surah Ali-Imran verse 190 to 195 by Petty Officer Jasni bin Anuar, RBN. It was later followed by the congregation of Maghrib prayers, Doa Akhir Tahun and Doa Awal Tahun 1439 Hijjrah.
As a way to enliven the month of Muharram, a religious lecture (ceramah) was delivered by Ustaz Haji Awang Naqib bin Haji Awang, Jamaat Religious Teacher, Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF).
The ceremony concluded with the congregation of Isyak prayers.
