MUARA, Friday 11 Aug 2016 – The Occupational Health & Safety Supervisor course was held on the 9th Aug to 11th Aug 2016 and attended by 22 Royal Brunei Navy personnel from various Engineering Department within Royal Brunei Navy. Also in attendance were 2 officers from the Royal Malaysian Navy acting as observers.

The course was delivered by Major (U) Don Giovanni – SO1 Inspectorate Operation and Senior Engineer 1 Pg Ali Bin Pg Hj Metasan – Head Audit OHS under Commander Royal Brunei Armed Force Secretariat Office, Ministry of Defence.

This course aims to introduce participants to the management of OHS and how OHS matters affect their work at their level of supervision. This includes learning to adopt a responsible approach to OHS management to provide leadership and commitment to improving OHS performance in meeting the expectation of MINDEF OHS policy and objectives.

On completion of the course, participants will be able to emulate their OHS responsibilities in their plans work from procedures and application of Hazards Identifications to Risk Assessment Processes in their work activities. Participants will also be able to describe their OHS responsibilities when supervising activities and identify hazardous acts and conditions and intervene where necessary.
