EXERCISE HELANG LAUT 21B/2024 CONCLUDES
SOUTH MIRAH WHARF, SURABAYA, REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA, Friday, 23 November 2024 – The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) vessels KDB DARULAMAN and KDB SYAFAAT, alongside the Indonesian Navy (TNI-AL) vessels KRI FRANS KAISIEPO and KRI TOMBAK have concluded Exercise HELANG LAUT 21B/2024 sea phase with the closing ceremony held today at Majapahit Lounge, Second Fleet Command. The ceremony celebrated the successful completion of various maneouvers and training activities during the exercise.
FLEET COMMANDER’S WORKING VISIT TO SURABAYA
SURABAYA, REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA – 21 November 2024 The Fleet Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), Captain Sahibul Bahari bin Haji Zainal Abidin, RBN, recently conducted a two-day working visit to the Republic of Indonesia. This visit coincided with Exercise Helang Laut 21B/2024, involving the participation of KDB DARULAMAN and KDB SYAFAAT.
BASE DEPARTMENT HONOURING ORDINARY RATE SHAFIEE’S CONVERSION TO ISLAM
MUARA, FRIDAY, 22 NOVEMBER 2024 – The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) Base Department celebrated the conversion to Islam of Ordinary Rate Mohd Shafiee bin Hamdan. Ordinary Rate Mohd Shafiee embraced Islam on 30th August 2024 at the Islamic Da’wah Centre, Brunei-Muara District. His formal conversion ceremony was held on 15th November 2024 at his parents’ residence in Kampong Pengkalan Dong, Tutong District.
THE 12TH NAVY-TO-NAVY TALKS BETWEEN THE ROYAL BRUNEI NAVY AND THE REPUBLIC OF SINGAPORE NAVY
Singapore, 20th November 2024 – The 12th Navy-to-Navy Talks (NTNT) between the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) and the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) were held at the Ministry of Defence ANNEX, Gombak, Republic of Singapore, and hosted by the RSN. Representing the RBN as Head of Delegation was Captain Mohammad Azrin bin Haji Mahmud, RBN, Chief of Staff, while the RSN delegation was led by Colonel Ooi Tjin Kai, Head of Naval Operations, RSN.
RBN SENIOR OFFICER COMPLETES PRESTIGIOUS SENIOR FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMME FOR SENIOR LEADERS AT THE LEE KUAN YEW SCHOOL OF PUBLIC POLICY
Singapore, Thursday, 14 November 2024 – Commander Pg Mohd Faren bin Pg Mohd Noor, RBN has successfully completed the renowned Senior Fellowship Program for Senior Leaders at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (SF6 LKYSPP), National University of Singapore. This distinguished five-week programme provided in-depth learning on leadership, public sector governance, international security, and digital transformation, equipping participants with advanced insights to contribute to Brunei’s defence and nation-building efforts.
SCHOOL VISIT FROM SEKOLAH MENENGAH PERDANA WAZIR, KUALA BELAIT
MUARA NAVAL BASE, Wednesday, 20 November 2024 – A group of thirty-five (35) students and six (6) teachers from Sekolah Menengah Perdana Wazir recently visited the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) for an educational tour aimed at broadening their knowledge of the Navy’s operations and career opportunities.
