OFFICIAL OPENING OF EXERCISE AMAN 2019
KARACHI, ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF PAKISTAN; Friday, 8 February 2019 – The 5-day multinational exercise, code-named Exercise AMAN 2019, kicked off at the Pakistan Navy Dockyard today. The opening ceremony was officiated by the Commander Pakistan Fleet, Vice Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi, who was also the Guest of Honour for the event, of which in attendance also included the Commander of Zimbabwean National Army, Lieutenant General Edzai Chimonyo, the Romanian Chief of Navy, Rear Admiral Alexandru Mirsu, Ambassadors and delegates of various countries. Representing the RBN were 739 Lieutenant Commander Ade Roddiane bin Hj Mohd Rosdi, RBN, Staff Officer Grade 2 Fleet Operations and 819 Lieutenant Khairul Anwar bin Hj Abu Bakar, RBN, Principal Warfare Officer KDB DARULEHSAN, who are participating as observers throughout the exercise.
CHIEF OF STAFF, JAPAN MARITIME SELF-DEFENSE FORCE, AWARDED THE ROYAL BRUNEI NAVY COMMAND BADGE
MUARA NAVAL BASE, Friday, 1 February 2019 – His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the Minister of Defence and the Supreme Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), consented to award the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) Command Badge to Chief of Staff, Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF), Admiral Yutaka Murakawa in recognition and appreciation for his service in enhancing the relations between RBN and JMSDF.
RBN HANDING OVER DONATION TO RBN PERSONNEL
MUARA, Friday, 25 January 2019 – The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) held a donation ceremony for RBN personnel who have lost a close relative this morning at Surau Al-Huda, Muara Naval Base. The guest of honour for the event was RBN Commander, First Admiral Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Norazmi bin Pengiran Muhammad.
CLOSING CEREMONY FOR 27TH SERIES OF PRINCIPAL WARFARE OFFICER COURSE
LUMUT NAVAL BASE, Thursday, 24 January 2019 - The closing ceremony for 27th series of Principal Warfare Officer Course (PWOC) was held at Venus Auditorium, Naval Education and Training Headquarters, Lumut Naval Base. A total of 17 course participants consist of 12 local participants and 5 oversea students namely 2 from Bangladesh Navy (BN), 1 from Pakistan Navy (PN) and 2 from Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), had successfully completed the 6 months long course after passing through various challenges and assessments. Two officers from RBN participated in the course, namely; 790 Lieutenant Commander Hj Abd Hafiz Mubarak bin Hj Rusli, RBN and 720 Lieutenant Md Aliashim bin Alias, RBN since 2 July 2018.
131 ROYAL BRUNEI NAVY PERSONAL PROMOTED
MUARA, Wednesday, 23 January 2019 – A promotion ceremony for the 131 personnel of Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) was held at the Senior Rates Mess, Muara Naval Base. Presenting the rank insignias to the RBN Personnel was First Admiral Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Norazmi bin Pengiran Haji Muhammad, Commander of RBN.
ROYAL BRUNEI NAVY RECEIVES GOODWILL VISIT FROM HMS ARGYLL
MUARA, Monday, 21 January 2019 – The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) welcomed the arrival of HMS ARGYLL, Royal Navy (RN) on 21 January 2019, that is currently visiting Brunei Darussalam until 24 January 2019. The ship is commanded by Commander Toby Shaughnessy, RN, and carries 205 crew onboard. Before entering Muara Commercial Wharf, HMS ARGYLL also conducted Passage Exercise with KDB DARULAMAN.
