Royal Brunei AirForce Base, Rimba, 11th May 2018 – The women personnel of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) held a two-day Volleyball Championship 2018/2019 at the Royal Brunei AirForce Gymnasium, Rimba.
The competition was held from 10th to 11th May 2018 with participation from Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF), Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), Royal Brunei AirForce (RBAirF), Training Institute RBAF (TI RBAF) and the Ministry of Defence. Major Mardiana bte Mohd Tuah was the guest of honour for the opening ceremony.
First place was won by Training Institute Royal Brunei Armed Forces, followed by the Ministry of Defence in second place and Royal Brunei Navy came up for third place.
The championship used the round robin system and for the finale, a mixed-unit game between the officers and the senior ranks took place.
The Navy’s Women won against the RBLF’s and RBAirF’s from the tough matches of rubber sets.
Present at the closing ceremony to give away prizes and trophy for all the winners was Lieutenant Colonel Siti Isah bte Haji Abu Talip.
The Volleyball Championship 2018/2019 aims to encourage sportsmanship and healthy competition being instilled amongst the RBAF personnel, as well as looking to gauge out potentials amongst new members of the RBAF.
