MUARA NAVAL BASE, Tuesday 11th July 2017 – Ambassador of Extraordinary and the Plenipotentiary Republic of Turkey to Brunei Darussalam, His Excellency Mehmet Suat Akgun made an introductory courtesy call to The Commander of Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), First Admiral Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Norazmi bin Pengiran Haji Muhammad. This is his first visit to the RBN since his appointment as Ambassador in November 2016.
During the call, the Commander of RBN took the opportunity to congratulate on his appointment as the second Turkish Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam and expressed his pleasure for the warm and friendly relations between the two countries. Both sides have actively participated in defence exhibitions and symposia showing that both countries have the common interest in witnessing the enhancement relationship especially in the areas of defence.
His Excellency Mehmet Suat Akgun received his Letter of Credence from His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam on 15 February 2017 and succeeded his predecessor, His Excellency Fikret Ogus Ates.
