MUARA, Wednesday, 7 March 2018 – The French frigate VENDÉMIAIRE is currently in Brunei Darussalam for a goodwill visit from 7 to 9 March 2018.

During the visit, Commander Alexander Blonce, the Commanding Officer of FNS VENDÉMIAIRE, paid a courtesy call to the Acting Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces and also the Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), First Admiral Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Norazmi bin Pengiran Haji Muhammad. Accompanying Commander Alexander Blonce to the call is His Excellency Christian Ramage, the Ambassador of France to Brunei Darussalam. Both sides commended the good bilateral navy-to-navy relations between Brunei Darussalam and France.
During her time in Brunei Darussalam, FNS VENDÉMIAIRE will participate in various activities including professional exchanges and interactions where both navy personnel will have the opportunity to share experiences and knowledge as well as, to foster friendship and camaraderie.
The French Navy also hosted a reception onboard FNS VENDÉMIAIRE at the RBN Base in Muara. Present as Guest of Honour was First Admiral Pg Dato Seri Pahlawan Norazmi bin Pg Haji Muhammad. Senior officials representing the Ministry of Defence and the RBAF were also present.
On 9 March 2018, the French Navy will also conduct a Passage Exercise (PASSEX) with KDB DARUSSALAM before setting sail to her next port of call in Manila, the Republic of Philippines.
