Muara Naval Base, Friday 19 September 2014 – The Foundation Laying Ceremony for the proposed Extension and modification to existing Officer’s Accommodation was held at the project site at Muara Naval Base.The event was inaugurated by the guest of honour Colonel (L) Pg Norazmi Bin Pg Haji Muhammad, acting Commander of Royal Brunei Navy. The ceremony was also attended by Hjh Marliyana bte Haji Abdullah Fung, acting Director of Development and Work Services.The Consultants engaged for this project are Arkitek Rekajaya as the Architect, KR Kamarulzaman and Associates as the M&E Engineering Consultant, QED Konsult as the Civil & Structural Engineering Consultants and Juruukur Bahan dan Pengurusan Utamacon as the Quantity Surveyor.
The contract value is $3.37 million. Construction commenced on 1 July 2014 with a 12 months construction period with the expected date of completion on 30 June 2015. The main contractor is LSL Sdn Bhd.The accommodation building has a total florr area of 2646 sq metres, with a total of 56 bedrooms, a prayer room and VIP rooms. The accommodation building is situated near the existing RBN bachelor officers’ accommodation block and RBN Officer’s Mess, Jalan Pelumpong.
