Muara, Monday 9 April 2018 – FCP 2018 has officially begun on 9th April 2018 and will end on 20th April 2018. This year’s FCP involves all the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) Fleet Operational Unit. The Main Objective for FCP is to build-up capacity on the Operational Planning Process at operational and tactical level and exercise maritime warfare procedural tactics in order to maintain preparedness and readiness of the fleet.
FCP 2018 was activated by Captain Spry bin Hj Serudi, the Fleet Commander (FC) of RBN at the Fleet Headquarters (FHQ) of RBN. Appointed with this activation is the Command Task Group (CTG) 18.1 Commander Hj Nor Ariwwin bin Mohd Ali, the Squadron Commander.
During the ceremony, the fleet commander emphasised on the training standards and safe conduct of the evolutions throughout the exercise whilst focusing on the meeting the objectives of the exercise, which include the evaluation and validation of Fleet Procedures and the evaluation of the effectiveness of command and control between Naval Operations Centre (NOC) and the Maritime Control Command (MCC).
For this year, the FCP will concentrate on Operational Military Appreciation Process (OMAP). The OMAP aimed to expose all RBN officers to the processes of OMAP in order to gain a better understanding of its theoretical processes and operational application in the contemporary environment.
The exercise itself will include 2 phases, phase 1 is Operational planning which concentrate on OMAP and the second phase is Field Training Exercise (FTX), which incorporates Operational tactical Training (OTT) on tactical warfare procedures and exercise awkward.
