BERAKAS GARRISON, FRIDAY, 11 SEPTEMBER 2026 – With the consent of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Negara Brunei Darussalam, 11 officers from the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) were among a total of 49 officers of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) who were promoted. Of the 11 RBN officers, one officer was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Commander, RBN, while 10 officers were promoted to the rank of Lieutenant, RBN.
Promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Commander, RBN was Lieutenant Nur Mahirah binti Haji Abas, RBN. Meanwhile, the officers promoted to the rank of Lieutenant, RBN were Lieutenant Abqari bin Haji Emran, RBN; Lieutenant Junior Grade Aiman Syahirah binti Dato Paduka Haji Abd Rahman, RBN; Lieutenant Junior Grade Abdul Mun’im bin Haji Samli, RBN; Lieutenant Junior Grade Muhammad Khairul Hazwan bin Bubin, RBN; Lieutenant Junior Grade Ampuan Md Nursyahmi Aniq Firdaus bin Ampuan Shahmali, RBN; Lieutenant Junior Grade Nurharzelah @ Nurfazelah binti Yakub, RBN; Lieutenant Junior Grade Muhammad Syazwan Adilah bin Haji Mahri, RBN; Lieutenant Junior Grade Ak Mohd Wafri bin Pg Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Mohd Jefri, RBN; Lieutenant Junior Grade Muhammad Nabil bin Suhaimi, RBN; and Lieutenant Junior Grade Nurul Majidah binti Awang Zakaria, RBN.
The rank insignia were presented by Yang Mulia Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Commander of the RBAF, at the Officers’ Mess, Berakas Garrison.
Also present were Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Retired) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Coordinating Minister for National Security, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II, members of the Defence Executive Committee and RBAF Executive Committee, Directors and Senior Officers of the Ministry of Defence, as well as family members of the promoted officers.
The ceremony concluded with a Doa Selamat recited by Lieutenant Colonel Abdul Mujib bin Haji Japar, Acting Director of RBAF Religious Directorate (JAMA’AT), to bless the ceremony.
