THURSDAY, 14 AUGUST 2014, MUMBAI, INDIA – DARUTTAQWA has safely berthed at Indira Dock, Berth no1 Port of Mumbai, India after seven days of journey from Jeddah Islamic Port, Saudi Arabia.On her transit through the Gulf of Aden within the International Recommended Transit Corridor (IRTC) on 9th of August 2014, DARUTTAQWA made contact with Japan Naval ship and Maritime Patrol Aircraft who were conducting their Piracy Patrol in the vicinity under Task Force 151. DARUTTAQWA cleared from IRTC at 10th August 2014.
On her arrival at Indira dock Port of Mumbai, the Commanding Officer of DARUTTAQWA accompanied by ship’s navigation officer and communication officer for Courtesy Call with Rear Admiral G.Ashok Kumar, Flag Officer Commanding Maharashtra and Gujrat Naval Area of Indian Navy at HQ.
Whilst calling at Indira dock Port of Mumbai, DARUTTAQWA rig up dress ship in conjunction with 68th Republic of India’s Independence Day. Dressing ship is one of naval tradition in celebrating national event.
DARUTTAQWA is scheduled to leave Port of Mumbai on Sunday 17th of August 2014 at 0930 Local Time, and is due for her next port Changi Naval Base, Singapore and expected to arrive on Monday 25th of August 2014.
