Singapore, Thursday, 02 October 2014 – The Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy, First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Tamit, his spouse, Datin Sakdiah binti Haji Mohammad Noor and delegation made a three day introductory visit to Singapore from 30 September to 02 October 2014.During the Introductory Visit, the Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy had made separate Courtesy Calls to His Excellency Dr Ng Eng Hen, Minister of Defence Singapore, and Rear Admiral Lai Chung Han, Chief of Navy, Republic of Singapore Navy.
Upon arrival at the Ministry of Defence, the Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy inspected a Guard of Honour at the Ministry of Defence Podium.
First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz had the opportunity to visit the Command and Control (C2) Centre, Changi where he visited the Multi-National Operations and Exercise Centre and the Information Fusion Center.
The Commander also toured the newly established Regional HADR Coordination Centre in the C2 Centre.The visit concluded with further tours to the Republic of Singapore Navy’s Maritime Training and Doctrine Command and the Naval Warfare Simulation Centre.Later in the evening, the Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy and Spouse attended a dinner hosted by the Singapore Chief of Navy and Spouse.
The visit aims to further strengthen the special long-standing friendship and close professional bilateral ties between the two navies, and countries in general. The Royal Brunei Navy and Republic Singapore Navy enjoy the strong defence cooperation through a wide range of interactions and activities such as bilateral exercises, regular visits and professional exchanges.
