Monday, 09 April 2018 – Naval Surface Action Group (NAVSAG) Training School held the closing ceremony for the Naval Boarding Course – Intermediate (NBC – Intermediate) 01/2018. The event was held at Samudera Hall, Naval Training Center (NTC), Royal Brunei Navy.Present as the Guest of Honour for the event was the Commanding Officer Naval Training (CONT), Commander Pg Omaralli bin Pg Jaya Indera Pg Hj Mokhtar Puteh and officially gave the qualification certificate to the course participants. NBC – Intermediate were run for 2 weeks starting from 26 March 2018 to 09 April 2018 and a total of 06 (six) NAVSAG candidates who was successfully and qualified as Boarding Team member for NAVSAG unit.
The course aim to train and raise the capabilities of NAVSAG in their roles maintaining safety for maritime security involving maritime interdiction operation for Visit, Board, Search and Seize vessels (VBSS) when faced both compliant and non-compliant boarding situation. This course was a new step towards to the development of NAVSAG Training School under the umbrella of NTC.
