MUARA, Thursday 15th February 2018 – The closing ceremony and certificates presentation for the Sub-Liutenant Course 2017/2018 was held at Nakhoda Hall, Naval Training Centre (NTC) at the Muara Naval Base. Present to grace the event as the Guest of Honour was Yang Mulia Capt Haji Othman bin Haji Suhaili @ Suhaily, RBN. Present at the event was also RBN’s Fleet Chief of Staff, Senior Officers, RBTS Staffs and Instructors.
The 14 weeks course which was commenced on the 13th November 2017, is one of the mandatory courses at RBN for Officer of the Watches. The Sub-Lieutenant Course was designed to provide junior fleet officers the elemental knowledge and understanding pertatining to navigation, seamanship and leadership, all of which are necessary for Officer of the Watches.
Speaking on behalf of the course participants, 1160 Lt JG Mohd Shukri bin Safri, shared the experiences and reflections throughout the programme. This was followed by brief remarks from the Head Of Training, DCI and a certificate presentation to the course participants by the Guest of Honour.In his closing remarks, the Guest of Honour congratulate the course participants upon the completion of their course and stated the importance of Junior Officers in grasping not only the academic components relevant to the course, but also to recognize their responsibilities and expectations of becoming a successful and competent Officer of the Watch.
