BOLKIAH GARRISON, Friday, 15 February 2018 – Closing Ceremony for Fire Marshall and Fire Warden 01/2018 course for Officer, Other ranks and Civilian personnel of Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) was conducted at Fire and Safety Services Headquarters, Combat Support Services (CSS) Royal Brunei Land Force, Bolkiah Garrison. 24 personnel from RBN completed the course consequently awarded as a qualified Fire Marshall and Fire Warden.
The course was conducted by the Officer Commanding Combat Support Services (CSS), Lieutenant Md Nurirwan bin Hj Md Riduan as well as CSS instructors Warrant Officer 2 Hazwan bin Sayang, the Head Instructor and other instructors which started from 12 February 2018 until 15 February 2018.
The objective of this course is to teach the basics, techniques for different situation and train personnel on how to become a qualified Fire Warden and Fire Marshall with the aim that when they get back to RBN, they will be equipped with Fire Safety knowledge and be able to practise as well as implement at their respective departments and buildings.
The course consisted of 80 percent practical and 20 percent theory. The course subject consisted of Bomb Prevention, Fire Safety Procedures and the usage of specific fire fighting equipment.
Guest of Honor during the closing ceremony was Lieutenant Colonel Tamin bin Tuah, Acting Deputy Commandant Combat Support Services. Also present was Commander Muhammad Hadi Syarifuddin bin Haji Muhammad Hassanal Mega, RBN Head of Inspectorate. To bless the event, Surah Al-Fatihah was recited before the event began. All in all, the course gave above satisfactory result whereby highest score was 95 percent and lowest was 70 percent.
During the event, Lieutenant Junior Grade Mohd Akhmal bin Mohd Akhbal, RBN Fire Safety Officer gave an appreciation speech highlighting with the achievement participants attained, RBN and CBC will continue to grow together to achieve high standard of Fire Safety within RBAF.
To close the ceremony, presentation of certificates was given to all course participants by Lieutenant Colonel Tamin bin Tuah, Acting Deputy Commandant CSS.
