MUARA, Friday, 15 December 2017 – Armada A team emerged as champion in the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) water polo finals after beating the Pangkalan Team ‘A’ to second place by 5 – 2. While ranked in third place was Pangkalan Team ‘A’. As for the swimming, Armada A once again the champion with 10 gold medals and 1 bronze leaving Pangkalan B and Armada A to the second and third place respectively. The final of the tournament was held at the swimming pool, RBN Gymnasium.
Prize presentation was delivered by the guest of honour, First Admiral Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Norazmi bin Pengiran Haji Muhammad, the Commander of Royal Brunei Navy and Captain Haji Othman bin Hj Suhaily@Suhaili, Deputy Commander of RBN. Also present during the tournament were senior officers, officers and personnel of RBN.
The tournament that commenced from 13th December participated by four teams, which consist of Pangkalan ‘A’, Pangkalan ‘B’, Armada ‘A’ and Armada ‘B’. The objective of the tournament was to select potential players to represent RBN for the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Water Polo and Swimming Tournament in January 2018.
