Muara, Monday, 01 December 2014 – The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) is hosting a high level delegation from China (People’s Liberation Army – PLA) which comprises of eight members headed by Major General Xiao Yunhong, the Commander of Guangxi Military Area, Guangzhou Military Command, PLA.The visit is aimed to further enhance the bilateral defence relations between the PLA and the RBAF, besides to exchange views on issues of mutual concern.
The official programme began on Monday with a courtesy call on the Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy followed by a round table session where the PLA delegation was also given an introductory brief on the RBN, covering its organisation structure, roles and functions.
The delegation was then taken on a ship’s tour aboard KDB DARULEHSAN before being hosted to lunch by the Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy at the RBN Officers’ Mess. Other programmes set aside for the delegation are visits to places of interest in Negara Brunei Darussalam.
The delegation arrived in Brunei Darussalam on Sunday evening 30 November 2014 for a two-day official visit and will depart Negara Brunei Darussalam on Tuesday 2 December 2014.
