BOLKIAH GARRISON, Friday, 11 May 2018 – Closing Ceremony for Fire Marshall and Fire Warden 02/2018 course for Other ranks and Civilian personnel of Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) was conducted at Fire and Safety Services Headquarters, Combat Support Services (CSS) Royal Brunei Land Force, Bolkiah Garrison. 11 RBN personnel and 7 Civilian personnel from RBN completed the course consequently awarded as a qualified Fire Marshall and Fire Warden.The course was conducted by the Officer Commanding of Fire and Safety Services, Lieutenant Md Nurirwan bin Hj Md Riduan as well as Warrant Officer 2 Hazwan bin Sayang, the Head Instructor and other instructors which started from 07 Mei 2018 until 11 Mei 2018.
The objective of this course is to teach the basics, techniques for different situation and train personnel on how to become a qualified Fire Warden and Fire Marshall with the aim that when they get back to RBN, they will be equipped with Fire Safety knowledge and be able to practise as well as implement at their respective departments and buildings.
The course consisted of 80 percent practical and 20 percent theory. The course subject consisted of Bomb Prevention, Fire Safety Procedures and the usage of specific fire-fighting equipment.
Guest of Honor during the closing ceremony was Commander Muhammad Hadi Syarifuddin Bin Haji Muhammad Hassanal Mega, RBN Head of Inspectorate Cell. To bless the event, Surah Al-Fatihah was recited before the event began. All in all, the course gave above satisfactory result whereby highest score was 95 percent and lowest was 70 percent.
During the event, Petty Officer Mohd Shahrom Bin Haji Murah gave an appreciation speech highlighting that the course coincides with the Health and Safety Orders 2009 issued by Labor Department, Kementerian Hal Ehwal Dalam Negeri to ensure health and safety environment at a work place.
To end the ceremony, presentation of certificates was given to all course participants by Commander Muhammad Hadi Syarifuddin Bin Haji Muhammad Hassanal Mega, RBN Head Of Inspectorate Cell.
