MALAYSIA, Wednesday, 25 May 2016 – The preparatory meeting for the 10th ASEAN Navy Chiefs Meeting (ANCM) was held on the 24th – 25th May 2016 at the Wisma Perwira Angkatan Tentera Malaysia.
The preparatory meeting was chaired by Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN), Assistance Chief of Staff Operation and Exercise, Rear Admiral Ahmad bin Abdullah.
Representatives from the ASEAN countries discussed their initiatives brought by their respective navies. The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) was represented by the Commanding Officer of KDB DARUSSALAM, Commander Haji Nor Ariwwin bin Haji Mohd Ali.
The delegates discussed on several upcoming programs such as the ASEAN Multilateral Naval Exercise 2017 by the Royal Thai Navy (RTN). The RTN will have the honour to host the 50th anniversary of ASEAN 2017 in Pattaya, Thailand.
Furthermore, the meeting included the preparations for the 10th ANCM in August 2016 hosted by the RMN. In the evening, the delegates had the privilege to enjoy some of the Malaysian cuisine during the official dinner.
