MUARA, Saturday, 4 November 2017 – USNS MILLINOCKET and USNS SALVOR arrived safely at Muara Commercial Wharf and Muara Naval Base. The contingent is led by the commanding officer of USNS MILLINOCKET, Captain Erwin Lao. Present to receive the ships was led by Commander Haji Edy Jofren bin Pehin Datu Penglima Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Jalil, Commanding Officer KDB DARULEHSAN, officers and personnel from the Royal Brunei Navy.

This visit is aimed at continuing the long-established bilateral relations that exist between Brunei and the United States of America. Both countries will conduct Exercise CARAT (Cooperation, Afloat Readiness And Training) from the 6th of November til the 10th of November.

The CARAT Exercise aims to enhance regional cooperation, build friendship and strengthen professional skills among participating forces. This exercise will be participated by personnel and assets from – the Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF), Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) and Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF), the Military Police, the Military Legal Unit, RBAF Medical Services, the RBAF Band and Public Relations Unit. Other government agencies such as Royal Customs and Excise Department, Royal Brunei Police Force, Fisheries Department and Narcotics Control Bureau will also be involved.
