Muara Naval Base, Thursday 14 July 2016 – To commemorate His Majesty’s Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan dan Yang Di-Pertuan Negara Brunei Darussalam’s 70th Birthday, a Thanksgiving Prayer was held on the 10th of Syawal 1437 corresponding to 14th July 2016, at the Royal Brunei Navy’s (RBN) Surau.
Gracing the event as Guest of Honour was Commander Spry bin Hj Serudi @ Hj Seruji, Fleet Commander RBN. Also in attendance were Senior Officers, Officers, Enlisted RBN personnel and civilian personnel of RBN.
The event commenced after the arrival of the Guest of Honour with mass Maghrib prayer, a Sunat Hajat prayer to request for the blessings and good proceedings for the following morning’s Parade at Bandar Seri Begawan, followed by the recitation of Surah Yaasin, Tahlil dan a Special prayer for His Majesty the Sultan. The event concluded after the mass Isya’ prayer.
His Majesty’s 70th Birthday celebration marks a significant event in the yearly calender. It brings out nation wide patriotism to request the blessings and longevity from Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala for His Majesty the Sultan and Brunei Darussalam.
