  • 01 – 03 December 2021, ASEAN-RUSSIA NAVAL EXERCISE 2021. The Inaugural ARNEX was attended by RBN with the participation of KDB DARUTTAQWA. ARNEX was conducted in North Sumatra with a total participation of 8 ships, 3 helicopters, 1 MPA from Russia and 7 ASEAN member nations.
  • 11 September 2020, Russian navy paid a three-day unofficial visit to Muara port. The ambassador Russian federation to Bandar Seri Begawan H.E. Vladimir Goncharenko welcomed the Russian Pacific Fleet Task Force led by the large anti-submarine ship “Admiral Tributs”.
  • 30 July 2019, RBN Commander Attends Russian Navy Day.  Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Othman Bin Haji Suhaili @ Suhaily, attended the Russian Navy Day and Main Naval Parade in Saint Petersburg, Russia. The event was officiated by His Excellency President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, and was attended by 27 other Chiefs of Navies. The event showcased a naval parade in the Neva River with the participation of 43 warships as well as submarines and more than 31 military aircrafts.
  • 03 – 07 November 2019, RBN receives Goodwill Visit From RFN-RFS VARYAG, RFS ADMIRAL PENTELEEV and RFS PECHENGKA, Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) welcomed the arrival of Russian Federation Navy (RFN) RFS VARYAG, RFS ADMIRAL PENTELEEV and RFS PECHENGKA, as a goodwill visit to Brunei Darussalam beginning on Sunday, 03 November 2019 until Thursday, 07 November 2019.
  • 24 October 2019, Commander RBN received an Introductory Call from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of The Russian Federation. First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Othman bin Haji Suhaili @ Suhaily, Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) received an introductory call from His Excellency Vladimir Borisovich Goncharenko, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation at RBN Headquarters.
  • 19 June 2019, The Royal Brunei Navy conducts its Inaugural Bilateral Exercise Initial Planning Conference with The Russian Navy. The Royal Brunei Navy is currently conducting its inaugural Bilateral Exercise Initial Planning Conference with the Russian Navy which begins today, Wednesday, 19th June, 2019 at the Multi National Coordination Center, Muara Base. The meeting will be held until Friday, 21st June, 2019.
  • 17 November 2018, Royal Brunei Navy and Russian Navy held their First Navy Staffs Talks in Brunei Darussalam. The first Navy Staff Talks (NST) between Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) and Russian Navy was held at the Naval Training Centre (NTC), Muara Naval Base, from 13 to 17 November 2018. The RBN delegation was headed by Commander Khairil Haji Abdul Rahman, RBN, Commandant Naval Training, RBN, while the Russian Navy delegation was represented by Captain 1st Rank Sergei Vavilov, Chief of International Military Cooperation, Russian Navy. Also joining the meeting were representatives from Corporate and Legal Unit and the Directorate of Defence Policy from the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF), Brunei Darussalam.
  • 30 July 2018, Commander Of RBN Attends International Far Eastern Maritime Show and Russian Navy Day. The Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), First Admiral Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Norazmi bin Pg Haji Muhammad was in Vladivostok, Russia for the International Far Eastern Maritime Show (IFEMS) and Russian Navy Day from 26 to 30 July 2018, upon the invitation by Commander-in-Chief of the Pacific Fleet of the Russian Federation, Admiral Sergei Avakyants.
  • 13 October 2017, Commander RBN received Courtesy Call from Deputy Commander of The Primorskaya Flotilla of The All-Arms Forces of The Pacific Fleet. The Commander of Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), First Admiral Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Norazmi bin Pengiran Haji Muhammad received a courtesy call from Rear Admiral Eduard E. Mikhailov, Deputy Commander of the Primorskaya Flotilla of the All-Arms Forces of the Pacific Fleet.

On 01 October 2023, The Russian Federation and Negara Brunei Darussalam celebrate the 32nd anniversary of diplomatic relations. This have turned into a warm and cooperative partnership, driven by shared positions on various global issues and commitment to bolstering interactions within the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.

On 27 November 2016, 25th anniversary of the establishment of RUSSIA-Brunei diplomatic relations, The Embassy of the Russian Federation in Brunei Darussalam launched an art exhibition at the Waterfront Art Gallery in the capital. Present to grace the launching ceremony was Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, Ambassador at large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

  • Russian reaffirms commitment to strengthen ties with Brunei and ASEAN. Russia places strong emphasis on cooperation within ASEAN centric forums and regards ASEAN as a key pillar of regional security and development, with Brunei playing an important role in promoting inclusive dialogue in this sphere. This was highlighted by Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Brunei Darussalam.
