BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Thursday 8 January 2015 – Datin Sakdiah binti Haji Mohd Noor, wife of Commander Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) hosted Madam Ng Chiew Yen, the spouse of Chief of Navy Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) for a visit at prominent places in Bandar Seri Begawan.
The visit started in Kampong Sungai Matan where Mrs. Lai had the opportunity to witness the culture of the locals and the fishermen village.
The entourage also shown by the locals the various products of the village and demonstration on making the products. Before proceeding to the centre of Bandar Seri Begawan, the spouses made a stop at the Brunei Art and Handicrafts Centre to catch a glimpse of various local handicrafts and arts as well as the demonstration on weaving the Jongsarat, the well known local traditional fabric.
The spouses later paid a visit to Royal Regalia Building located in the heart of Bandar Seri Begawan. The museum is home to a collection of royal regalia, including the royal chariot, gold and silver ceremonial armoury, the jewel encrusted crowns used during the coronation and a replica of the throne, which is used by the Sultan on state occasions.
