MUARA BEACH, Tuesday, 24th April 2018 – The RBN and the RAN organised and conducted a community service at Muara Beach where a total of 40 personnel, consisting of 20 personnel from RBN and 20 crew members from HMAS TOOWOOMBA, held a beach cleaning campaign this afternoon in preparation of ANZAC Day on Wednesday, 25th April 2018.
The beach cleaning campaign is part of a four day Goodwill Visit programme by HMAS TOOWOOMBA to Negara Brunei Darussalam. Community services, such as beach cleaning campaign, are one of the programme set to further RBN and RAN interaction. This is not limited to just military exercises, but as mentioned, also to involve community services. The programme enables both RBN and RAN to contribute to the community and at the same time increase awareness and promoting environmental conservation, while also strengthening the relationship among RBN and RAN.
