TANAH JAMBU, Tuesday 31 May 2016 – The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) had the opportunity to showcase its capabilities and abilities as a static display exhibition during the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) 55th Anniversary celebration. This year’s theme was ‘Hearts and Minds’.
The RBN Static Display exhibition was officially opened by the arrival of Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Paduka Seri Baginda Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan dan Yang Di-Pertuan Negara Brunei Darussalam, Minister of Defence and Supreme Commander of the RBAF and was welcomed by First Admiral Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Norazmi bin Pengiran Haji Mohammad, Commander of RBN.
Also in attendance was His Royal Highness Prince General Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and General of RBAF.
The exhibition started with the Introduction of the RBN, which focused on the commemorative book, titled ‘The Wake of the Royal Brunei Navy’. The special commemorative book is a momentous celebration of RBN’s humble beginning, tracing her evolution through the decades and a memorable dedication to each member of the RBN whom have given their undying commitment in protecting and serving the nation.
Also part of the exhibition was the international missions the RBN has been involved in, particularly with the overseas deployments along with new assets and capabilities. The RBN is able to increase its range and duration to go to further. Moreover it highlighted its ability to address its vision, mission, and roles.
The exhibition also included developments in Training and Human Resource Planning. It showcased the RBNs continuous efforts to maintaining welfare of RBN personnel.
His Majesty’s visit ended with a group photo with Senior Officers of the RBN as well as the handing of the Pesambah to His Majesty and His Royal Highness.
The exhibition was then open for public viewing where many eager individuals had the opportunity to learn and ask about recruitment, training and the organisation as a whole.
