REPUBLIC OF SINGAPORE, Tuesday 10 October 2017 – The Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), First Admiral Pg Dato Seri Pahlawan Norazmi bin Pg Haji Muhammad was conferred Singapore’s prestigious military award, the Meritorious Service Medal (Military).

The award was presented by the Minister for Defence, Dr Ng Eng Hen at an investiture ceremony held at Singapore’s Ministry of Defence where the Commander of RBN also inspected a Guard of Honour prior to the investiture.

The award is in recognition of his contribution in enhancing the close relationship between the RBN and Republic of Singapore Navy, as seen from the continued long-standing ties between the two navies under his leadership. In 2016, both navies commemorated 40 years of defence relations between Singapore and Brunei, while conducting the 35th series of Exercise PELICAN and underscored the strong friendship between both navies.

During his visit from 9 to 11 October 2017, the Commander of RBN also made courtesy calls to Singapore’s Minister for Defence, Chief of Defence Force, Lieutenant General Dato Paduka Seri Perry Lim and Chief of Navy, Rear Admiral Lew Chuen Hong. As part of his programme, he also visited the Littoral Mission Vessel RSS UNITY.
