BERIBI, Friday, 17 June 2016 – Ramadhan is a significant occasion within the Islamic calendar as Muslims all around the world undergo a period of fasting, reflection, devotion, generosity and sacrifice in order to seek blessings and rewards from Allah Subhannahu Wata’ala. While major holidays of other faiths have largely become commercialized events, Ramadhan retains its intense spiritual meaning. The month itself also brings about good rapport established through family and community gatherings, and it also helps strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood.

Bachelor officers from the Royal Brunei Navy recently hosted a Sahur gathering at Mamih Restaurant, Beribi. The event was primarily aimed at maintaining ties between officers in order to strengthen them. This particular period of time provides invaluable benefits as it unites us through one common religious act and this gives opportunities through strengthening our bond with Allah and deepening ties with other people and develop feelings of kindness and good-will towards others.

The event ended with a group photo session with all of the officers.
