Meragang, Tuesday, 13 February 2018 - The Royal Brunei Navy and Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force organised a community service at Meragang Beach where a total of 103 personnel, consist of 70 personnel from RBN and 33 personnel from JMSDF conducted a beach cleaning campaign this afternoon.
The beach cleaning campaign is part of the four days goodwill visit programme for 3 JMSDF ships JS SAWAGIRI, JS YAMAGIRI and JS YAMAYUKI to Brunei Darussalam. JMSDF participants also expressed their fondness to the natural beauty of Brunei Darussalam and conveyed their satisfaction to the overall visit. Community service such as beach cleaning campaign is one of the programme set to further RBN and JMSDF interaction, not limiting to military exercises but also to be involve in community services, which also helps to increase awareness amongst participants on our responsibility to the environment.
