RIMBA AIR BASE, Thursday, 22 September 2016 – 28 Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) personnel were given the opportunity to join the Basic Base Defence course conducted by 236 Squadron, Air Regiment of Royal Brunei Airforce (RBAirF).
The opening ceremony was officially launched by the Guest of Honour, Major (U) Peter Bin Ulat, Commanding Officer of Number 2 Wing, RBAirF, alongside the presence of RBAirF Officers.
The event commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by the welcoming speech by the Guest of Honour.
Representing RBN during the ceremony was Lieutenant Commander Surainawati Bte Abdul Samat, Commanding Officer Base, RBN.
During the course, they will be given the exposure on the procedure of conducting Vehicle Check Point (VCP), Anti-riot and tactics of defending the base. They course will be expected to conclude within 6 weeks with a closing ceremony held at Bukit Aguk.
This was the second time that RBN was given the opportunity to join the course. At present, the newly established Base Defence of RBN has achieved a total of 59 Personnel and is looking forward to expanding in the near future.
