MUARA, FRIDAY, 11 SEPTEMBER 2026 – KDB DARUSSALAM set sail to embark and participate in EXERCISE SEAGULL 10/26, which will be held in Zamboanga, Republic of the Philippines. Upon completion, KDB DARUSSALAM will resume its journey to Subic Bay, Republic of the Philippines, to partake in the 23RD ADMM+ MS JCA. Both maritime exercises will be hosted by the Philippine Navy.
The ceremony was graced by First Admiral Sahibul Bahari bin Haji Zainal Abidin, RBN, Commander of Royal Brunei Navy (RBN). Also, in attendance during the farewell, RBN Executive Board members, officers and sailors, and family members of officers and crew of KDB DARUSSALAM. The ceremony commenced with a recital by Leading Hand Md Al–Amin bin Haji Abdul Momin, RBN Religious Affairs Assistant.
KDB DARUSSALAM, under the command of Lieutenant Commander Haji Abdul Hafiz Mubarak bin Haji Rusli, RBN, leads 69 personnel complemented by officers including medical officer, crew, religious personnel (JAMAAT), and Maritime Special Operation Squadron (MARSOS) personnel.
The participation of KDB DARUSSALAM in both bilateral and multilateral maritime exercises underscores the Royal Brunei Navy’s commitment to strengthening regional maritime security, enhancing interoperability, and fostering closer professional ties with regional counterparts. The deployment also reflects the RBN’s continued support for defence diplomacy through meaningful maritime engagement, while reinforcing solidarity, camaraderie, and the enduring spirit of cooperation among ASEAN navies.
