Muara, Thursday 19 February 2015 – The three JMSDF Ships names JS MATSUYUKI (DD-130), JS YUGIRI (DD-153) AND TV SHIRAYUKI (TV-3517) have safely depart from Muara Commercial Port to continue their deployment.
The Japan Maritime Self Defence Force (JMSDF) shipshave docked at the Muara Commercial Port for JMSDF’s 11th port visit to Brunei Darussalam to enhance ties between JMSDF and the Royal Brunei Navy.The farewell ceremony was held prior to the departure at the Pier of Muara Commercial Port.
In attendance from the Royal Brunei Navy was Lieutenant Colonel (L) Muhd Hadi Syarifuddin bin Hj Muhd Hassanal Mega, Officers and men from the Royal Brunei Navy as well as the Navy Band, D’Anchorage.
Joining the departure is KDB DARULEHSAN to conduct Passage Exercise (PASSEX) with the JMSDF ships. The PASSEX is envisioned to further enhance the existing bilateral ties and interoperability between the two navies through practical engagements.
Taking the opportunity, the Head of Delegation, Captain Masami Katoh expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Royal Brunei Navy for all the hospitalities accorded to him and the ships officers and crew throughout the visit since the day the Ships arrived in Muara on Monday, 16February 2015.
During the 4-day visit, the two navies enjoyed the friendship through sports interactions and exposed to cultural diversity in Brunei Darussalam with the tour to Royal Regalia, Brunei Arts and Handicrafts Centre in Bandar Seri Begawan and several interesting places in Brunei Darussalam.
Goodwill visits such as this can be a platform to renew the established bilateral relationship between the two countries.
