TANAH JAMBU, Friday, 24 July 2026 – Four officers from the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) successfully completed the six-week Junior Officer Development Course (JODC) 2/2026, conducted from 15 June to 27 July 2026. The course’s closing ceremony took place on Friday, 24 July 2026, at the Auditorium, Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF).

The ceremony was officiated by Yang Mulia Lieutenant Colonel (U) Azmie Iskandar bin Ariffin, Commandant of the DA RBAF, as the Guest of Honour. Also in attendance were Commander Norharirayati binti Yakup, RBN, Deputy Commandant Naval Training, senior officers, Directing Staffs, officers, the Academy Sergeant Major, and the course participants.

4 Royal Brunei Navy officers were among the 29 officers who successfully completed the course, which also comprised of 15 Royal Brunei Land Forces officers, 8 Royal Brunei Air Force officers, and 2 officers from the Training Institute Royal Brunei Armed Forces.

Throughout the six-week programme, participants underwent a balanced combination of academic learning, practical application, and professional military development. Structured around four core modules—Leadership, Foundation Skills, Security Studies, and Military Studies—the course progressively strengthened participants’ competencies, equipping them with the knowledge, skills, leadership qualities, and critical thinking required to undertake greater responsibilities as junior officers within the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF).

The successful completion of JODC 2/2026 reflects the RBAFs’ continued commitment to developing competent, adaptive, and professional military leaders capable of meeting the evolving operational demands of the organisation.
