LOMBOK, WEST NUSA TENGGARA, INDONESIA; Friday, 9 March 2018 – The Exercise Planning Conference (EPC) Exercise HELANG LAUT 19A/18 was held in Galatik Room, Golden Palace Hotel, Mataram City, Lombok Island, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia from the 7th to 9th of March 2018 hosted by the Indonesian Navy (IDN).
The bilateral Exercise HELANG LAUT is between Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) and IDN, which are now in the 19th series since the first one held in 1995. This year series will involve two Command Teams from respective navy where both will interact and exchange of professionalism at Action Speed Tactical Trainer (ASTT), Centre of Electronics and Weaponry, Surabaya Naval Base. The exercise will be base on comprehensive simulation in order to carry out naval warfare.
The meeting was co-chair by Capt Erwin S. Aldedharma, Senior Officer for Strategic Operations, IDN HQ and Cdr Khairil Haji Abdul Rahman, Chief of Staff, RBN HQ. Among discussed were the exercise date and the phases during the conduct of the exercise. The meeting also discussed on the interaction programme to strengthen relationship, which includes Courtesy Call, Sports, and Visit.
