Muara Base, Thursday 27 November 2014 – Mr. Abu Sufian bin Haji Ali, Deputy Permanent Secretary Defence Policy and Development made a one-day working visit to the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN).On his arrival, the Deputy Permanent Secretary was greeted by the Commander of RBN First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Tamit, Deputy Commander of RBN, and RBN senior officers.
Present with the Deputy Permanent Secretary was Hjh Marliyana binti Hj Abdullah Fung; Acting Director Directorate of Development & Works Services (DDWS), Hj Alauddin bin Hj Abdullah; Assistant Director DDWS, and Norsalwana binti Hj Ibrahim; Secretariat to Deputy Permanent Secretary.
During his time at the naval base, the Deputy Permanent Secretary was given a short presentation of the general overview and current developments of the Royal Brunei Navy at the naval headquarters.
After the presentation, the Deputy Permanent Secretary was accompanied by Commander of RBN to visit Jetty Bravo Syncrolift to view the current progress of the maintenance for KDB BERKAT and KDB AFIAT. Additionally, the Deputy Permanent Secretary was brought to the construction site of the new Surau and the Naval Training School.
The operational roles and continuous development of RBN plays a vital part in the country’s military defence organization, thus making the importance of the work visit to the Deputy Permanent Secretary.
