MUARA, Thursday, 6 August 2026 – The Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), First Admiral Sahibul Bahari bin Haji Zainal Abidin, received a courtesy call from the outgoing Defence Attaché of the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Senior Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Huan, together with the incoming Defence Attaché, Colonel Trinh Ke Van, at Bilik Pahlawan, Royal Brunei Navy Headquarters.

The courtesy call served as a farewell visit by Senior Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Huan, who introduced his successor, Colonel Trinh Ke Van, as the newly appointed Defence Attaché to Brunei Darussalam.

During the meeting, the Commander RBN expressed his appreciation to Senior Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Huan for his contributions in strengthening the longstanding defence ties and cooperation between the Royal Brunei Navy and the Vietnam People’s Navy throughout his tenure. The Commander RBN also welcomed Colonel Trinh Ke Van and expressed his confidence in the continued strengthening of the cordial relations and defence cooperation between both countries.

The meeting also provided an opportunity for both sides to exchange views on matters of mutual interest and reaffirm their shared commitment to enhancing bilateral defence relations through continued engagements, professional exchanges, and defence diplomacy initiatives.
