BERAKAS, Friday 27 May 2016 – With the consent of His Majesty the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Negara Brunei Darussalam, Minister of Defence and Supreme Commander of Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), the RBAF announced that a total of 2 Senior Officers and 72 Officers were promoted, and 18 were the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) Officers.
Present as the Guest of Honour was Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah, Commander of the RBAF. The promotion ceremony took place at the Officers’ Mess Berakas Camp.
Following were the four RBN officers who were promoted from Lieutenant (Lt) to Lieutenant Commander (Lt Cdr) namely, 739 Lt Cdr Ade Roddaine bin Hj Mohd Rosdi, 759 Lt Cdr Malai Haszahrin bin Malai Yusof, 784 Lt Cdr Malek Fadillah bin Pehin Dato Kifli, and 801 Lt Cdr Hj Arnold bin Hj Osman.
Meanwhile, fourteen other RBN officers were promoted from Lieutenant Junior Grade (Lt JG) to Lt, 687 Lt Hj Noor Azhar bin Hj Tahni, 802 Lt Wan Abdul Naafi bin Metussin, 815 Lt Shamshu Nuzliwazri bin Hj Tajuddin, 819 Lt Ak Khairul Anuar bin Pg Haji Abu Bakar, 820 Lt Mohammad Akramin bin Alidin, 835 Lt Mohammad Ariff bin Awg Razali, 840 Lt Ak Muhd Rajaie bin Pg Razali, 866 Lt Mohamad Husaini bin Hj Mohamad, 859 Lt Mohamad Hydzir Zuhdi bin Haji Sulaiman, 875 Lt Ak Muhammad Saifullah Abdul Azim bin Pg Abdullah, 888 Lt Suzalina binti Serbini, 890 Lt Nazurah binti Haji Mahaleh, 892 Lt Hidayatul Zabidah binti Haji Dayang, and 893 Lt Mohammad Nabil bin Jalil.
Also present at the ceremony were Deputy Minister of Defence, First Admiral (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Tamit, members of Defence Executive Committee, Commandants, Directors, Senior Officers and Officers of Ministry of Defence and RBAF as well as family members of the promoted officers.
The promotion of the officers is part of the RBAF strategic objectives towards a brighter career progression which promises to enhance the morale of RBAF officers.
