Muara Naval Base – Tuesday, 8 May 2018. The 7th Naval Working Group (NWG) between Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) and Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) was successfully held from 07 – 09 of May 2018 at Multi-National Coordination Centre (MNCC), Muara Naval base.  This year’s meeting is hosted by RBN.
 
Welcoming remarks was delivered by Deputy Commander of Royal Brunei Navy, Captain Haji Othman bin Haji Suhaili @ Haji Suhaily, RBN who highlighted the long standing relationship between both navies and acknowledged that the Naval Working Group has matured over the years.
 
The head of RSN delegation, Rear Admiral Cheong Kwok Chien, Head of Naval Operations, accompanied by Major Lester Yong,  Head of Defence Relations Branch and Ms Kirstie Lee, Staff Officer paid a courtesy call to the Commander of RBN.  Also present was Singapore’s Defence Adviser, Colonel Yeo Joon Hua Desmond.
During the courtesy call, both navies expressed satisfaction with the long standing bilateral bond and discussed on the current and future engagement.
 
The 7th NWG was co-chaired by the RBN Chief of Staff, Commander Khairil Haji Abdul Rahman, RBN and RSN Head of Naval Operations, Rear Admiral Cheong Kwok Chien.
 
In attendance were officers from both navies. The meeting discussed on the exercise, training, courses, and interactions between both navies. The meeting concluded with the signing ceremony of the Minute of Meeting.  The 8th NWG will be hosted by RSN mid next year.
As an appreciation to the successful meeting, a dinner reception was hosted by Deputy Commander of RBN at All Seasons Restaurant in Time Square Shopping Complex.
