MUARA NAVAL BASE, Monday, 27 June 2016 – The Nuzul Al-Quran ceremony was held to commemorate the revelation of the Holy Quran today at the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) Surau.
Present as the guest of honour was, Captain Haji Othman bin Haji Suhaili@Suhaily, Acting Commander of RBN. Also present were senior officers, officers and RBN enlisted personnel.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of surah Al-Baqarah verse 183 to 186 by Lieutenant Junior Grade Mohammad Hafizuddin bin Mohd Yusof, Officer Under Training KDB MUSTAED. Followed by the congregation of Zuhur prayers.
As a way to enliven the fasting month of Ramadan, a religious lecture was delivered by Imam Haji Zainal bin Haji Othman, Head of imam Zone 1A, Daerah Brunei Muara.
Nuzul Al-Quran is one of the highlights of the Holy month of Ramadhan. The Al-Quran is one of the greatest miracles where the revelation of the Holy Quran was delivered in phases based on the current events of the Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu’Alaihi Wassalam.
Meanwhile, today also marks the last 10 days of Ramadan. During these nights Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu’Alaihi Wassalam used to pray all night and keep his family awake for the prayers (Bukhari).
RBN will hold prayers for Qiamullail during the odd numbered nights of the 21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th and 29th of Ramadan.
